Dirty trick No. 8:- Your property is not considered detached

Some houses were clearly built as detached, sold as detached and look like detached properties.

However due to some form of minimal single storey linking structure such as a porch, tall wall, lobby or previous house extension that may simply touch or is connected to the adjoining neighbours property, then some Planners and their lawyers will not consider the application site to be detached with the extra generous PD rights that they may enjoy for a detached property.

Suggestion:- Be vague on the application drawings relating to the possible connections with the neighbour. Consider and be prepared for removing the previous connecting structures if the new PD extension is of more use.
